Brighton Wedding
Brighton has been a popular seaside resort for Londoners to visit for many years, particularly after 1841 when the railways arrived. It is also a surprisingly large town, with its popularity nowadays boosted by its relaxed attitude to lifestyle choices. Even the Romans built villas in the Brighton area, and later there were fishing and agricultural settlements attracted by the relatively good weather of the area, though the ferocity of the sea in some storms eventually made it less attractive. Luckily the British developed a liking for bathing in seawater and associated ways of relaxing, and Brighton became a magnet for the well off. Many of those hotels and other large buildings remain today, some (like the Old Ship Hotel in the picture above) providing great venues for the many weddings that the area hosts.
A real Brighton landmark, this hotel is a much loved feature of the seafront. It is registered to hold civil weddings and partnerships and has a wide range of rooms to choose from. The largest is the ballroom which can take up to 180. If you have more they can presumably dance on the sand on the beach opposite.
